Chris Cornell Filling In For Robert Plant On Led Zeppelin Tour? That's News To Him

'I have not been approached to fill in for Robert Plant on the Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be,' singer says.

I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss tour." </P><P> </P><P>Cornell's denial comes just a day after <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/aerosmith/artist.jhtml">Aerosmith</a>Aerosmith guitarist <a href="http://aeronewsdaily.com/blog/2008/10/31/aerosmith-guitarist-says-page-trying-to-motivate-plant-to-return-to-zeppelin/" target="_blank">Brad Whitford confirmed reports</a> that frontman Steven Tyler recently met with Zeppelin for an impromptu jam session. "I actually think Jimmy wanted Steven to come over and play a little bit because I think he was trying to light a fire under Robert." </P><P> </P><P>Rumors of a Zeppelin reunion tour have abounded since the iconic band played <a href="/news/articles/1576186/led-zeppelin-give-fans-a-whole-lotta-love-at-reunion-show.jhtml">a single reunion set</a> last year at London's O2 Arena. <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/twisted_sister/artist.jhtml">Twisted Sister</a>Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider added fuel to the fire last month when he revealed that the group was thinking of touring, with or without Plant. </P><P> </P><P><a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2008/10/13/another-led-zeppelin-rumor-almost-debunked/">According to Snider</a>, the rest of the band told Plant, " 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Myles Kennedy].' " </P><P> </P><P>"And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in." </P><P> </P><P>In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there." </P><P> </P><P>But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard." </P><P> </P><P>Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/timbaland/artist.jhtml">Timbaland</a>Timbaland-produced solo LP, <a href="/news/articles/1596730/chris-cornell-debuts-timbaland-produced-track-on-tv-show.jhtml"><i>Scream,</i></a> will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider <i>Scream</i> something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way. </P><P> </P><P>"It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out [1999's] <i>Euphoria Morning,</i> my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rage_against_the_machine/artist.jhtml">Rage Against the Machine</a>Rage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like. </P><P> </P><P>"It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point."</p>

Lady Gaga's 26th Birthday: Her 10 Best MTV Quotes!

As Mother Monster celebrates her birthday, MTV News takes a look back at her most-interesting confessions ... so far!
By Jocelyn Vena

<P><P>Listen up, Little Monsters: It's Mother Monster's 26th birthday! And in that quarter of a century (plus one year!), <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> has managed to reinvent the pop wheel with her eccentric persona and pumping, politically charged dance music. When asked how she planned to celebrate another year, she simply told a Monster on <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/ladygaga" target="_blank">Twitter</a>, "Quinceanera." </P><P> </P><P>While we'll be Quincea&#241;era-ing in spirit, we <i>will</i> celebrate her colorful life and career by remembering 10 of the most-revealing bites she's shared with MTV News. So, dabble on some glitter, put on your best wig, platforms and leotard, and let's take a stroll down memory lane &#8212; in no particular order. </P><P> </P><P><B>10.</B> In 2009, Gaga sat down and explained that when <a href="/news/articles/1610702/lady-gaga-says-kanye-west-saw-past-her-poker-face.jhtml">"Poker Face" was re-imagined by Kanye West and Kid Cudi</a> as "I Poke Her Face" (later changed to "Make Her Say"), she felt that it was time for someone to get the true meaning of the lady-love euphemism. </P><P> </P><P><center><a href="http://www.mtv.com/content/news/2012/lady_gaga_26th_birthday_soundboard/"><img src="http://www.mtv.com/shared/promoimages/bands/l/lady_gaga/birthday_soundboard_032712/420x300.jpg"></a><br> </P><P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/content/news/2012/lady_gaga_26th_birthday_soundboard/"><b>Check out our Lady Gaga soundboard, and leave a birthday message for Mother Monster!</b></a></center> </P><P> </P><P>"It's funny, because a lot of my fans were like, 'Gaga, Kanye wrote a song ... and it's not about what your record's about. Your record is about gambling, and this song is about dirty sex things,' " she recalled. "I said to them, 'You're wrong. Kanye was right,' " she explained, laughing. </P><P> </P><P>"That's exactly what this song is about. The record is about how I used to fantasize about women when I was with my boyfriend. It was really exciting that he had so much insight into what the song was about. He's a cool guy." </P><P> </P><P><B>9.</B> Gaga's pop-music kinship with <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyonc&#233;</a> has been well-documented in two songs: G's <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/lady-gaga/741160/telephone.jhtml#artist=3061469">"Telephone"</a> and B's <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/beyonce/455581/video-phone-extended-remix.jhtml#artist=1236911">"Video Phone."</a> When Gaga headed to shoot the Hype Williams-directed <a href="/news/articles/1626441/lady-gaga-paid-tribute-to-beyonce-in-video-phone-clip.jhtml">video for "Video Phone,"</a> she had this message for the team: "I said, 'I want to do you in your video, and I want to tribute you. I want to dress up like you,' " Gaga recalled telling her co-star. "And Hype Williams ... was so excited. He was like, 'Gaga, I want no makeup on your face.' It was really stripped down &#8212; real Beyonc&#233; hair, and we wore the same outfit in the video, and I [paid tribute to] her." </P><P> </P><P><B>8.</B> Gaga's love for her hometown of NYC is hardly surprising, and she shared on the <a href="/news/articles/1664761/lady-gaga-marry-the-night-fernando-garibay.jhtml">MTV special "Inside the Outside"</a> that when she sat down to write the track <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/lady-gaga/742547/marry-the-night-official-video.jhtml#artist=3061469">"Marry the Night,"</a> "he" was the perfect muse to inspire the song. "It's never gonna go away, the tan of New York never goes away," she explained about always identifying with the city that bred her. </P><P> </P><P><B>7.</B> During the same special, Gaga opened up about her <i>other</i> inspiration &#8212; <a href="/news/articles/1664709/lady-gaga-fans.jhtml">her fans</a> &#8212; adding, "The biggest surprise to me has been my relationship with my fans. They've changed my life. The fans are the thing that you can't learn; they were the instrument in the music that nobody taught me about." </P><P> </P><P><B>6.</B> Always politically charged and motivated, Gaga has made it her mission to not only make chart-topping music, but also be a voice for the disenfranchised. When she sat down for <a href="/news/articles/1669351/lady-gaga-president.jhtml">"MTV First: Lady Gaga"</a> in 2011, she explained that, despite her strong political beliefs, she wouldn't want to run for office. </P><P> </P><P>"Well, first of all, I wouldn't want to be president for the day," she said. "And I say that because I really, for myself, it's important that my message, although it has political implications, I like to keep myself separate because politics can constrain things," she continued. "So, our message can be completely free of any politics, and we can just surge forward." </P><P> </P><P><B>5.</B> During that <a href="/news/articles/1669370/lady-gaga-mermaid-sex-you-and-i.jhtml">"MTV First,"</a> when she debuted her <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/lady-gaga/742495/you-and-i.jhtml#artist=3061469">video for "Yo&#252; and I,"</a> the singer discussed how difficult love can sometimes be and how her art explores that theme. "Sometimes in love, you can't make it work," she said. "No matter what you do, there's this giant boundary between you and someone else. So, that's what it's about: perceiving in your imagination that there's something magical inside of you that you can make it work." </P><P> </P><P><B>4.</B> At the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2011">2011 VMAs</a>, she pulled the ultimate costume change by appearing as her male alter-ego, <a href="/news/articles/1669944/lady-gaga-jo-calderone-monsters-fans.jhtml">Jo Calderone</a>. Gaga, as Jo, took home the Moonman for her fist-pumping equality anthem <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/lady-gaga/742058/born-this-way.jhtml#artist=3061469">"Born This Way."</a> Afterward, Jo explained, "She was texting me after the award, after I picked it up for her, and she just said, 'You know, more than anything I've ever gotten before, this means more to me, because "Born This Way" is about the fans and the fans are more important to me than anything I do; more important than f---ing breathing, you know?' " </P><P> </P><P><B>3.</B> In late 2011, Gaga released her semi-autobiographical <a href="/news/articles/1675400/lady-gaga-marry-the-night-costumes.jhtml">video for "Marry the Night,"</a> noting that history can be reinterpreted for her art, if need be. "This was one of the first times that the fashion didn't propel so much of the story line," she explained. "It is autobiographical, so the entire story's true, and it's through the lens of how I choose to repaint my past." </P><P> </P><P><B>2.</B> Behind every great woman is a great Haus. Gaga's famed, rarely spotted, <a href="/news/articles/1625758/lady-gaga-explains-her-haus-of-gaga-no-one-gets-it.jhtml">Haus of Gaga</a> are the folks who help create the live shows, fashions and accessories she wears. And they mean everything to her. "They're my best friends," she said. "I'm not really sure what the world thinks ... but I do hear things like, 'Who is the Haus of Gaga?' and 'Are you putting out a fashion line?' And no one gets it. It's not a commodity. It's not something that's meant to be sold. </P><P> </P><P>"It's a real bond and relationship, and that's what I think music and art is about," she said. "They are my heart and soul. They believe in me, and they look at me like a mother and daughter and sister, with pride and love." </P><P> </P><P><B>1.</B> In the end, everything Gaga does is for her art, and there's no place Gaga feels more at home than onstage in front of thousands of screaming fans. "I don't see the live show as extension of the record at all, it's meant to be a completely different experience with the artist, with myself. I want my fans to come and go to a party," <a href="/news/articles/1610781/lady-gaga-on-success-the-turning-point-for-me-was-the-gay-community.jhtml">she told MTV News</a>. </P><P> </P><P>"I want them to watch the show and think, 'I'm so f---ing cool that I am here right now.' It's about them. It's about love. It's about art. The show is meant to bring a tremendous feeling and sentiment of escapism." </P><P> </P><P><i>Share your birthday wishes for Gaga in the comments below!</i></p></p>

Rihanna Sneaks A Peek Of Drake's 'Take Care' Video

'I can't wait to see what all my fans think,' RiRi tells Capital FM of upcoming clip.
By Jocelyn Vena

While fans are salivating for the chance to see what Rihanna and Drake will be up to in their highly anticipated "Take Care" video, the singer opened up a bit about the clip.

In an interview with Capital FM, the always-feisty Rihanna teased that she recently saw the finished video and it lived up to her expectations.

"I can't wait to see what all my fans think. I saw it a couple of days ago. I love it," she said. "It's beautiful. It's different from anything Drake has ever done."

Ri was spotted heading to one of Drake's shows earlier this week in London when he performed at the O2 arena. Post-show, the twosome were spotted at London hotspot Low. Perhaps she saw the video during their hangout session?

Rihanna and Drake previously appeared together in her video for "What's My Name?" In the clip, the real-life pals played a lovey-dovey couple, and fans have been waiting to see what these two had in store for the "Take Care" video since February, when word of the shoot went public.

Director Yoann Lemoine called the three-day shoot "very minimal" and "mellow," adding, "They seemed to be super close, and that's what I wanted for the video. They fit together pretty well, so it was just easy.

"There's a lot of space in the video, and I wanted the visuals to pay tribute to that," he continued. "It pays tribute to nature. When I listened to the track, I was seeing a landscape ... involving animals and massive landscapes. I won't say too much, but it's very surprising that there are very few elements in it. It's very simple but there's this big sense of emptiness in it. It's not narrative at all, and it involves animals."

What are you expecting from the "Take Care" video? Share your ideas in the comments!

Nicki Minaj Deserves Her Own Genre On Roman Reloaded

MC serves up hip-hop and pop on the bipolar Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which leaked online Wednesday.
By Rob Markman

Search for Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded in iTunes, and you'll find that it's tucked tight in the hip-hop/rap section, but putting Nick's sophomore album in the confines of a single genre only tells half the story. The album was illegally leaked onto the Internet on Wednesday night, but when Barbs officially unwrap Roman's new LP on April 3, they'll find a culmination of her musical growth neatly sequenced in a symmetrical pop/rap package.

The first half of Roman Reloaded recalls Nicki the Ninja's mixtape days, where she spewed nothing but venom on tracks like "I Get Crazy" and "Itty Bitty Piggy." The album opener, "Roman Holiday," isn't unfamiliar, but the theatrical track which Nicki brought to life at the 2012 Grammys makes more sense in the context of the LP. The vaudevillian hook gives way to some pretty clever rhymes that many may have missed during the much-panned televised performance. "Anyway stylists go get Bulgari/ I am the ultimate Svengali/ You bitches can't even spell that/ You hoes buggin' repel that," she spits before getting schizophrenic, switching up to a flow that has hints of the late Ol' Dirty Bastard.

Sure, Nicki is a pop icon, but these days, so are Jay-Z and Lil Wayne. The Young Money superstar refuses to give up any rap ground, however, and the first seven tracks from Roman Reloaded are unapologetically street. The Hit-Boy-produced "Come On a Cone" and "I Am Your Leader" are both anchored by bass-rattling beats and both find Nicki (as Roman) inviting haters to her figurative male genitalia. On the latter, the Female Weezy pounds her chest alongside Rick Ross and Cam'ron, baiting her competition with lines like: "Nunchuck her, no time to duck her/ Sign of the cross 'cause this is her last supper." Roman Reloaded has more rap features than her 2010 debut: 2 Chainz shows up for "Beez in the Trap" and Wayne appears twice, once on the title track and then again on "Sex in the Lounge." Nicki then gives the hood some inspiration with Nas, Drake and Young Jeezy in tow on the uplifting "Champion," but shortly after that, the bipolar LP takes a sharp turn.

Rather than mix hip-hop with her ever-growing pop sensibilities, Nicki presents Roman Reloaded as a two-parter. If cassettes were still the music medium of choice, there'd be a stark contrast between the A and B sides.

RedOne's pulsating sound dominates on the Harajuku Barbie's current top 10 single "Starships" and continues for five songs straight — the sequencing is not coincidental. "Pound the Alarm" is an adrenaline-laced fist-pumper, and "Whip It" proves that the reigning rap queen picked up quite a few tricks touring alongside Britney Spears last year. "Automatic" is another sweat-inducing dance anthem that should keep Minaj on the charts while her rap fare will keep her in the conversation amongst the hottest MCs.

Over the course of 19 tracks, the Barbs should find a song to suit their every mood. "Fire Burns" for when they're nursing heartbreak, "Marilyn Monroe" for when the world seems to be just too much and "Hov Lane" when they want to celebrate their relative victories.

Since her come-up days, Nick has refused to be put in a box. With her cocksure rap demeanor, it's hard to ignore her hip-hop roots, but when you factor in her ability to craft a popular tune, the possibilities become endless. Roman Reloaded is a further realization of those infinite possibilities, so instead of defining Nicki Minaj by category, maybe it's time to give her own genre.

What do you think of Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded? Tell us in the comments!

Pauly D Reintroduces Himself On 'The Pauly D Project'

'I'm really excited just to show the world that side of me,' Pauly says of 'Jersey Shore' spin-off, premiering tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

After five seasons of "Jersey Shore," we know DJ Pauly D pretty well. He's the ultimate prankster who never beefs with anyone, takes crucial care of his beloved sneaker collection and has a crunchy blowout that defies all laws of physics.

But the Rhode Island kid has many more sides to show us, and he plans to put them all on display in his spin-off show, "The Pauly D Project." When asked what parts of his personality "Shore" watchers are missing out on, Pauly told MTV News' Sway, "Just how much I am all about my home, my family and my friends — you don't really see that."

In the show — which debuts tonight (March 29) at 10:30 p.m. ET, right after the reboot of "Punk'd" — viewers will tag along as Pauly hits Las Vegas for his DJ residency at the Palms Hotel and Casino with his whole crew in tow, including turntable inspiration Biggie, bodyguard Jerry and wingman Ryan. They'll also get to see Pauly go home to visit his friends and family and sign a mind-blowing record deal with the G-Note division of 50 Cent's G-Unit Records.

Oh, and did we mention he also hits the road as the opening act for Britney Spears? Yeah, buddy.

"Now you get to see me take my closest friends on the road with me from Rhode Island, and you get to see Rhode Island," he said. "I'm really excited just to show the world that side of me."

His hookup with 50 is already paying dividends, as the G-Unit General recently tapped Pauly to help out in the first commercial for the rapper's Street King energy drink. Pauly jumped in front of the camera with 50 and legendary comedian Joan Rivers for what the MC said was a "real oddball group" intended to target a wide range of potential audiences.

Don't miss the premiere of ""The Pauly D Project" tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, following the reboot of "Punk'd"! For continuing "Pauly" coverage, be sure to check in with MTV's Remote Control blog.

Britney Spears' Big 2011: From A Smash Album To A Ring On Her Finger

A decade into her career, the pop megastar reinvented herself this year as the ultimate Femme Fatale and made a big commitment to Jason Trawick.
By Jocelyn Vena

<P>Maybe <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a>' lucky number is 30. The singer turned 30 this year, marking the landmark birthday on December 2 with a fan-voted MTV News tournament that crowned <a href="/news/articles/1675289/britney-spears-tournament-winner-30th-birthday.jhtml">the Best Britney Video of All Time</a>. But her 30th year also proved to be an incredibly successful period in her career. </P><P> </P><P><center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:720934/cp~vid%3D720934%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A720934" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></center> </P><P> </P><P>For the first time in a while, she seemed comfortable being the pop megastar that she is. More than a decade into her career, Spears re-emerged as a <a href="/news/articles/1675474/britney-spears-femme-fatale-favorite-album.jhtml"><i>Femme Fatale,</i></a> giving fans a fist-pumping album, embarking on a flashy tour and dropping more memorable music videos. Britney Spears fandom was reenergized as the singer came out of her shell, opening up about this phase in her career as well her personal life in several high-profile interviews. So it's probably not surprising that Spears will cap off the year at #4 on MTV News' <a href="/news/articles/1676177/newsmakers-2011-lady-gaga-amy-winehouse.jhtml">Top Newsmakers of 2011</a> list, just behind Lil Wayne. </P><P> </P><P>"When I was younger, I was busy, busy, and I was always singing and dancing all the time. "That was one of those things I was really stoked [about], as much as I went into it like, 'Wow, he's not an actor. Beyonce's First Post-Baby Appearance Was Picture-'Perfect'

'It's perfect for this private couple,' one celebrity expert tells MTV News of B's low-key NYC outing.
By Jocelyn Vena

<P>It was only a month ago that fans were wondering when the first images of new mom <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyonc&#233;</a> might hit the Net. On Monday night, those questions were answered. Just four weeks after giving birth to daughter <a href="/news/articles/1677033/blue-ivy-beyonce-jay-z-leaves-hospital.jhtml">Blue Ivy</a>, B was back on the scene to celebrate hubby <a href="/news/articles/1678669/jay-z-carnegie-hall.jhtml">Jay-Z's first show at Carnegie Hall</a>. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Jay-Z Brings The House Down At Carnegie Hall" id="vid:731725" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>Wearing a form-fitting red dress, she hit up a post-show party held at Jay's 40/40 Club in New York City. And while <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/02/07/beyonce-carnegie-hall-jay-z-show">Beyonc&#233; could have premiered</a> her <a href="/news/articles/1678670/beyonce-post-baby-appearance-jay-z.jhtml">post-baby body</a> on a splashy red carpet, celebrity experts note that the more understated move is very B. </P><P> </P><P>"It's perfect for this private couple. She didn't make a big deal walking a red carpet at an award show or posing on the cover of a magazine," Huffington Post celebrity columnist Rob Shuter told MTV News on Tuesday (February 7). "Beyonc&#233; made it as low-key an event as possible and at the same time plugged her husband's club." </P><P> </P><P><b><a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/02/08/beyonce-photos-carnegie-hall-night-two/">Check out more photos from B's night out!</a></b> </P><P> </P><P>For the appearance, Beyonc&#233; was decked out in a fiery-red Temperley London dress, Christian Louboutin heels and an Alexander McQueen clutch. While that may sound very glam, another expert was surprised by just how modest the look actually was. </P><P> </P><P>"Beyonc&#233; looks amazing in her first post-baby appearance. Even thought it made sense for her to make her debut last night to show her support for her husband and the charity his concert benefited, her outfit was fairly simple," celebrity editor <a href="http://gossipdavid.com" target="_blank">David Caplan</a> said. </P><P> </P><P>"I expected her to make her post-baby debut at a really glitzy event or awards show, like maybe the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/grammys">Grammys</a>, in a gorgeous gown and really steal the show. But clearly she wanted to be seen, since she even posted photos of herself right away on her website, which stars don't typically do &#8212; they'll just let the media pick up and run the photos." </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Celebrity Expert Believes Beyonce And Jay-Z Will Reveal Baby Photos Of Blue Ivy" id="vid:724228.id:1676907" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>So, will B and Jay play it just as cool when it comes to releasing the first shot of their newborn? "It will be a [paparazzi] shot taken on the beach or when the couple is on vacation," Shuter predicted. "They won't reveal the baby to get a [magazine] cover like Bethenny [Frankel] or those other reality stars." </P><P> </P><P>Caplan also proposed that a baby photo will probably leak. "As for when will we see baby Blue, I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of grainy-looking paparazzi photo emerges," he said. "Those photographers are very crafty, even if Beyonc&#233; and Jay-Z think they're doing all they can to keep Blue away from photographers. But ultimately, I think you can expect to see her baby photos in a magazine pictorial, and that will be Blue's introduction to the world. That's the real reveal people want to see." </P><P> </P><P><i>Are you looking forward to the first photos of Blue Ivy? Ke$ha Is Channeling 'Sexiness' Of '70s Rock For New Album

Glitter-heavy pop star tells MTV News she's going for 'balls-out, irreverent rock and roll.'
By James Montgomery, with reporting by Matt Elias

<P><a href="/music/artist/_kesha_/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a>'s already got the face paint down pat, and, during recent live sets, she's even taken to <a href="http://www.popeater.com/2011/03/17/kesha-drinks-blood-during-performance" target="_blank">guzzling blood</a> out of a human heart, so it should come as no surprise that, on her upcoming album, the pop star is taking things back to the most <i>theatrical</i> era of rock: the prop-heavy, arena-spanning heyday of the 1970s. </P><P> </P><P>Ke$h revealed her plans over the weekend in Los Angeles, on the red carpet of KIIS FM's annual <a href="/news/articles/1663909/wango-tango-britney-spears-kesha.jhtml">Wango Tango</a> concert, where she told MTV News that the follow-up to her breakout <i>Animal</i> album (and, we suppose, <a href="/news/articles/1652714/kehas-cannibal-a-cheat-sheet.jhtml"><i>Cannibal</i></a> too) would be heavy on hard riffs and light on pretty much <i>everything</i> else. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Ke$ha Says New Album Will Be ' Balls-Out, Irreverent Rock'" id="vid:652875" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>"The next album ... I've been working on writing on the road, but as far as a sound, I just know it's gonna be balls-out, irreverent rock and roll," she said. "I've been pretty much in this '70s rock and roll kick and I just want to capture some of the true essence of what rock and roll is, and that's just irreverence and sexiness and fun and not giving a f---, so we'll definitely put a bit of rock and roll in it." </P><P> </P><P>So, does that mean that fans can expect the likes of Alice Cooper or Peter Frampton to show up on her new album? Perhaps. Because while Ke$ha's new album is still a ways off, she's already begun calling in favors, hoping to line up a killer collabo for the new disc. </P><P> </P><P>"I'm trying, trust me," she laughed. "I really would love to connect with one of my idols, I mean, that's my dream. I'm working on it." </P><P> </P><P><i>What do you think of Ke$ha going rock for her next album? 'Mad Men' Premiere: 11 Burning Questions Answered

The wait is finally over! What did we learn from the return of 'Mad Men'?
By Eric Ditzian

Photo: Michael Yarish/AMC

"Mad Men," don't ever leave us again, OK?

Or at least not for a few more seasons. After a 500-day-plus hiatus, AMC's hit show returned Sunday night with the epic two-hour season-five premiere, filled with civil-rights strife, relationships of the sure-to-blow-up-in-epically-entertaining-yet-profoundly-troubling-fashion variety, and innumerable tiny moments that make creator Matthew Weiner's "Mad Men" arguably the finest show on TV.

The debut also addressed a slew of lingering questions we'd amassed since the previous season came to a close in October 2010. Check out 11 of the most burning questions we'd been dying to have answered:

When Does Season Five Take Place?
How gangster would it be if Weiner opened season five with a slow push in toward Don Draper, his hair oddly gray, his deep wrinkles coming into view, his dapper postwar mojo caked in decades of booze, fatty foods and what-has-become-of-this-once-proud-country disillusionment? What if the year were 1986 and Don were a gut-bellied 60 years old? However unlikely such a crazy time jump was, an open question headed into the new season was exactly when in time Weiner would restart his story. After all, over a year passed between seasons one and two, while barely a month elapsed from the end of season three to the start of season four. Now we know the answer: Season five begins in the summer of 1966.

Did Don Really Marry Megan?
If you thought Don Draper would be content with an appropriately aged girlfriend, a quick trip to "Tomorrowland" (the title of the season-four finale) disabused viewers of such a notion. He ditched Dr. Faye Miller and took his young, seductive secretary Megan Calvet on a Disneyland trip with the kids. One sun-bleached California vacation later, Don had cruelly dumped Faye and asked Megan to marry him. Would it last? Could it last? Yes and yes. They're now married and living together (though, obviously, not so happily).

Is Faye Totally Out of the Picture?
Poor Faye. She was smart and sexy and Don's intellectual equal. Alas, she was also his age. As far as we can tell, Faye is totally dunzo as far as Don's life is concerned. Could she come creeping back into the picture? There's an argument to be made that she's too self-possessed to slink back into his arms. But when on "Mad Men" has a woman ever been able to resist the charms of Don Draper?

What Will Happen to Don When He Turns 40?
If you guessed "have a birthday party at his Manhattan loft thrown by his secretary-turned-wife during which she saucily sings a French love song to Don and his friends, leading the ad man to verbally bitch-slap his wife and his wife to strip down to her undies, clean their apartment and eventually make love to her hubby on the filthy carpet" — then congrats, you win!

Wither Bert Cooper?
The firm's elder statesman seemingly quit the firm at the end of season four, following Don's public statement that he will no longer produce ads for tobacco companies. "It's been a pleasure," Bert announced on his way out the door. Turns out he didn't quit, and as season five begins, Bert's still puttering around the office with not much at all to do.

Does Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce Survive?
Big Tobacco gave Don's ad agency the big kiss of death at the end of season four. They lost the Lucky Strike account, the very big deal keeping their fledging operation afloat. Could Sterling Cooper survive? Would Don have to go back to selling fur coats? Hardly. Thanks to the hard work of account exec Pete Campbell, Sterling Cooper continues to chug forward. They're still struggling, however, so expect the firm's finances to play a significant role this season.

Does Joan Have Her Baby?
A back-alley hump session with a former flame left office manager Joan pregnant last season. She contemplated having an abortion, even traveling to a clinic, before deciding to keep the baby and pretend it's actually her husband's child. Did she go through with the ruse? Does her hubby still have no idea he's been cuckolded? Yep, the guy hasn't a clue. And Joan, the once-and-future sex kitten, is now spending most of her time applying cream to her baby's diaper rash, rather than scheming and pouting in the offices of Sterling Cooper.

What's Up With Lane's Marriage?
The British finance whiz had a helluva rough time in season four. His wife left him, he went for a roll in the hay with a prostitute, then his father beat the piss out of him, sending him scurrying back across the pond to mend things with his wife. As season five begins, they're back together, but all is not well. After he picks up a stranger's wallet and calls up the guy's mistress, we witness Lane awkwardly attempting to engage in the '60s equivalent of phone sex. Nothing comes to pass, but we have a feeling Lane and his marriage are in for a ton of misery in the episodes to come.

Is Sally Draper Still a Terror?
Shockingly, if only temporarily, the answer to this burning question is no. Last season, heartbreakingly, Sally was a nightmare of a little girl as she struggled to adjust to a life lived under the shaky guidance of divorced parents. Who would have thought that as she approached her teenage years, she'd tamp down on the tantrums and start becoming a well-behaved adolescent girl? Two hours into the new season, that's exactly what Sally is. Of course, we still haven't seen her in the company of her mom, Betty. There's plenty of time for the terror to return.

Is Pete Campbell Still So Freaking Pete Campbell?
He fathered a child with his co-worker. He got married and cheated on his wife too many times to count. He's, generally speaking, a sniveling little turd viewers love to hate. But by the end of last season, Pete looked like he was turning things around, confessing his infidelities to his wife and turning into the agency's rainmaker. Maybe, just maybe, Pete was becoming — less annoyingly Pete. It's not going to last, it seems. Two hours into season five, he's already complaining that his wife sits around all day like a frumpy lump, and he has started taking later trains back from the city to the suburbs, because, well, take one guess why he's hanging around Manhattan after work. Pete Campbell, surprise surprise, will keep on being Pete Campbell.

Can Peggy Olsen Sustain a Happy, Healthy Relationship?
Remember beatnik journalist Abe Drexler, the guy copywriter Peggy hated and then loved and then kinda love-hated or hate-loved? Things appear to be going well between the two of them. She's cranky as ever, but he's supportive of her and her work life, even as he surely continues to believe her job is everything that's wrong with '60s America. How long they remain a joyful couple is anybody's guess (ours is: not very long). For now, though, let's just be happy for Peggy. After all, she's the true hero at the heart of "Mad Men."

'American Idol' Castoff Erika Van Pelt 'Confused' By Judges' Advice

'I'll be honest, I felt there was a lot of contradiction,' Van Pelt tells MTV News after her elimination.
By James Montgomery, with reporting by Kelly Marino

Erika Van Pelt
Photo: MTV News

To just about anyone who tuned in to this week's "American Idol," Erika Van Pelt's exit was a shocker, to say the very least, especially since her performance of "New York State of Mind" was one of the highlights. But also because, you know, Heejun Han is still on the show.

Rather than using her three minutes to goof off, Van Pelt genuinely seemed determine to put her best foot forward on Wednesday night, whether it was listening to "Idol" judges' previous advice to minimize her onstage movements or taking designer Tommy Hilfiger's hairstyling tips to heart. Oh, and then she delivered a sultry, soulful version of the Joel classic, all of which seemed to guarantee she'd be safe ... for at least another week.

But, as it turns out, that wasn't the case, and on Thursday night's results show, it was Van Pelt who was sent packing. And immediately after her ouster, let's just say Van Pelt was still trying to figure out what went wrong — though she's got a pretty good idea of where to start.

"I felt confused every week, I'll be honest," she told MTV News. "I felt there was a lot of contradiction, and as an artist and someone who takes their singing very seriously, it's hard for me to take critique of my work, period, and then when you feel like you sorta have people telling you one thing and then telling you something completely different the week after, it's hard.

"Because constructive criticism to me is something I can go home, work on, fix and come back and say, 'Here, I fixed it.' I feel what happened to me in this competition was I would take all the advice, I'd work on things, I'd bring something different to the table, and they'd tell me the complete opposite. It's been really hard for me, I can admit that."

And to that end, when asked which judge or mentor actually provided her with the best guidance, Van Pelt took a diplomatic pause and then answered rather truthfully: none of them.

"This might sound really weird, but I feel like my fellow contestants taught me the most," she said. "We have this inner-working where we all help each other, we all offer up our advice ... it's all about throwing these ideas out and never telling someone what they should do; it's about giving them suggestions."

Of course, she did add that, ultimately, her "Idol" exit was of her own doing. "I will never blame anyone for misleading me in any way, shape or form; I'm a grown woman," she said. And she's grateful for all the opportunities the show has provided for her, chief among them being that, for a while at least, she doesn't have to go back to her day job as a wedding DJ.

"I don't think I'll be doing any DJ'ing for a while," she laughed. "To be totally honest, I need to sleep!"

Kristen Stewart To Make 'Micro-Cameo' In'K-11'

Stewart will have a 'small' voice-over role in the transgendered prison film, which is her mother's directorial debut.
By Jocelyn Vena

Kristen Stewart

It seems that "K-11" is once again a family affair. The film's director, Jules Stewart, has managed to find a role for her superstar daughter, Kristen Stewart, who had previously exited the film. Her brother, Cameron, will also be in the film.

Jules told E! Newsthat even though shooting on the film is complete, KStew really wanted to lend her support to the film, noting that Stewart's part is all done in voice-over.

"Kristen has always been supportive of 'K-11,' but you'll have to look very hard to find her. It's a micro-cameo," her mom told the website. "We'd already finished shooting the movie, but Kristen still wanted to be a part of it in some way."

The news of the cameo first broke on Jules' page, when she wrote, ""Excited to say that a final stage addition to @K11OfficialFilm is Kristen playing a small role. #K11"

So, who will K-Stew be playing? She'll play Goran Visnjic's secretary. The story follows his character, a record producer who binges on drugs and alcohol. He eventually finds himself in Los Angeles County Jail and in the section of the jail occupied by gay and transsexual inmates, run by one of the inmates named, Mousey.

Stewart had been attached to the film before dropping out last year. Her "Twilight" co-star Nikki Reed had also been attached to the film at one point. This film, which marks the directorial debut for Jules, also stars D.B. Sweeney ("Hard Ball") and Portia Doubleday ("Youth in Revolt"). There's no release date for the film yet, but it may be premiering at the Berlin Film Festival.

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/kesha_/artist.jhtml">Kesha</a> has joined forces with the Human Rights Campaign to help celebrate National Coming Out Day on Tuesday (October 11). </P><P> </P><P>The pop singer created a special message T-shirt, featuring a purple zebra, that <a href="/news/articles/1653432/kehas-we-r-who-we-r-video-is-hot-and-dangerous.jhtml">proclaims "We R Who We R,"</a> the title of her hit anthem about individuality. The shirts sell for $35, with all proceeds supporting the HRC's work to achieve equality for the LGBT community. </P><P> </P><P>According to the <a href="http://www.hrc.org/press-releases/entry/human-rights-campaign-unveils-t-shirt-collaboration-with-kesha" </P><P>target="_blank">HRC website</a>, only 1,000 shirts will be produced. </P><P> </P><P>Others are also using the day to bring awareness to LGBT issues. Several notable celebrities will be honored by the Equality Forum, which is hosting an event and profiling notable LGBT members in pop culture. </P><P> </P><P>As <a href="http://miamiherald.typepad.com/gaysouthflorida/2011/10/lgbt-history-month-honors-ricky-martin-wanda-sykes-ryan-murphy-pedro-zamora-27-other-icons.html#ixzz1aTgr8yl4" target="_blank">LGBT History Month</a> rolls on throughout October, Ricky Martin, Wanda Sykes, "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy and Pedro Zamora, a former "The Real World" castmember turned AIDS activist, all will be profiled by the organization. </P><P> </P><P>"We're the only minority worldwide that's not taught history at home, in school or religious institutions," said Malcolm Lazin, Equality Forum's founder and executive director. "Like every group that's been marginalized, it really helps to make the case why we should take real pride in ourselves and our community." </P><P> </P><P>Since launching the program five years ago, over 200 icons have been profiled, including Jane Lynch, Lady Gaga and Neil Patrick Harris. Lazin called LGBT month "empowering and life affirming." </P><P> </P><P>The message comes amid increased awareness about young people being bullied, including MTV's <a href="http://www.athinline.org">A Thin Line</a> campaign. The MTV film <a href="http://www.mtv.com/shows/disconnected/series.jhtml">"DISconnected,"</a> which premiered Monday night, focuses on issues in a world where technology controls personal lives. </P><P> </P><P>"I see the viciousness of people every day," said <a href="/news/articles/1672289/jersey-shore-vinny-disconnected-fight-negativity.jhtml"><P>id="1672289">"Jersey Shore" star Vinny Guadagnino</a> on the "DISconnected" after show. "I kind of want to be a soldier in the field, so to speak, and try to combat the negativity with a positive message. I want to help open people's eyes up, like this movie does, to the negativity." </P><P> </P><P><b>Check out the <a </P><P>href="http://www.facebook.com/MTVDisCONNECTED">Facebook</a> page for <a href="http://www.mtv.com/shows/disconnected/series.jhtml">"DISconnected."</a></b></p>
